TiAC Spring 2007 Conference
April 30th--May 1st
Seascape Resort, Aptos CA

For the group's Spring Meeting we are returning to the Seascape Resort  on Monterey Bay.

Themes

Delivering Value

The acid test of Enterprise Architecture is that it returns value to the business.  At the meeting we will be exploring this aspect of Enterprise Architecture that often is only tangentially addressed during annual reviews.

New technology prospecting

Building strategic capabilities

Aligning target architectures with business drivers

Selecting the right projects and avoiding tarpits

Cutting your Loses: Reducing exposure to out of control projects

Technology and system retirement

SOx

Not Sarbanes Oxley, but Service Oriented Enterprise/Applications/Infrastructure.

Service Orientation appears to be one of the two holy grails of IT at present. (The other is grid computing and other models for  on-demand computing  and they are two parallel tracks to moving from a capital to an expense base for IT)

We will have a number of presentations from member companies that cover a range of issues.

Is there a model for defining shared business services as a base
for developing industry wide horizontal or vertical applications/processes.

Concerns about delivering secure ( or securable ) services.

Is there a mismatch between the organization of IT and the
requirements for delivering services not applications.

In addition to these larger topics we will be having the traditional corporate presentations and round table discussions.

Schedule

The conference follows the usual schedule with breakfast at 8am Monday 30th.

There will be full day program on Monday with dinner in the evening for all participants.

The Tuesday program  starts again at 8am and we will finish mid afternoon to meet flight schedules.
