Current Round Table Discussion Topics

Application Architecture: Have we entered another generation of technology?  is the browser and Web-services based model  a real revolution in how applications will be delivered and what will be the underlying infrastructure.  A trend to track, fine grained outsourcing of services.  How can we manage this.
Security and Privacy: Technical and societal aspects of security are still evolving and are significant driver in companies technology investments.  We will continue to track the adoption of new security technology and best practices for delivering comprehensive security architecture
Frameworks and Patterns:  Frameworks have evolved from  taxonomic systems to prescriptive solution patterns.  The major vendors have invested in developing application patterns to simplify the  delivery of solutions based on their technology and as vehicle for selling their consulting and system integration skills.  As companies deploy these we want to learn what are the strengths, weaknesses, and gotchas in these schemes to make you an Agile organization.
Measurement & Metrics:  This topic covers a number of related areas.  How do we measure the quality of the applications and infrastructure and change over time.  Then, how do companies track the impact of architecture on those numbers.

Effective Scope: We have always looked at  how companies define enterprise architecture, both because of what it tells us about architecture and what it tells us about the companies.  Now as systems architecture and systems engineering evolve as disciplines, where and how do enterprise architects collaborate with those groups.  Does it make sense to distinguish these disciplines, or is it better to define one set of architecture accountabilities in the enterprise?
